Starfish Space

About

Starfish Space, founded in 2019 and headquartered in Tukwila, Washington, develops autonomous spacecraft to service satellites in orbit. The company's core product is the Otter servicing vehicle, designed to be 10x smaller and significantly less expensive than existing alternatives. Using exclusively electric propulsion, the Otter vehicle autonomously docks with satellites to perform life extension and disposal missions, addressing a critical need in the space industry.

The company's technical work spans satellite guidance, navigation, and control, along with autonomous robotics and electric propulsion systems. Starfish has launched two demonstration satellites, Otter Pup 1 in 2023 and Otter Pup 2 in 2025, to validate its technology in orbit.

Starfish Space has raised over $150 million in venture capital funding to build what it describes as infrastructure for satellite servicing in low Earth orbit.
